Thanks, even though its not the correct one for this car I think it makes it better.

Nothing wrong with a little 'artistic licence' Dirk. It's looking great.

Re: Polar Lights Sunbeam Tiger "Rally Racer"
I will never use Testors rattle cans again. It always seems to happen and yet I keep trying with the same results. I get a Testors can, I heat it up in some hot water and then shake the ever lovin out of it. And when I go to use it, it spits up all over my project rather then spraying. Ugly ugly ugly... Well I sanded the body and am ready for round two
FYI, if you get this kit the hood doesn't fit right. I'll get more into that later
Till next time...

Re: Polar Lights Sunbeam Tiger "Rally Racer"
Wow, rattle can disaster! That's about the worst I've seen. All I can figure, since I've seen rattle can painting on You Tube is a faulty spray tip. Only other thought is it was an old old can or one that maybe froze at some time in the past. So sorry to hear of it. I luv the project idea and hate to see a snag so far into the project.

Re: Polar Lights Sunbeam Tiger "Rally Racer"
While I admit the Viky D rat rod build has taken up most of my interest and time I still have been moving forward on the Lil Tiger rally car. Here you can see the 260 v* is almost wired, Its proven to be a little tricky to say the least but its getting there
I also weathered the chassis with some rustall.

Sorry to hear about the paint issue. The engine looks good and the chassis as well. Looking forward to seeing the developments

Re: Polar Lights Sunbeam Tiger "Rally Racer"
The color has been reapplied and its gassing out. I want the base color to set will before I start masking for the rally stripes. Also got some interior work going on. I will update soon.

I can tell your a Chevy guy Dirk.
The heads on a Ford SB are symmetrical unlike a SB Chevy.

Chevy plug port port plug plug port port plug
Also I noticed you call this as a Polar Lights kit. This is just a repop of the old AMT kit.

That's already been discussed earlier in the thread

Ha! I didn't get the "port plug..." thing until I checked the foto. Absolutely correct about the difference. Re: fender blisters. I never did like them, but over time I accepted them as necessary with ultra-wide wheels. Among the last kits I bought back when, were the AMT VW's, Rabbit (Golf) and Scirocco). Both had similar optional body work. I'll look forward to the windup of this beauty.

That must be the new Chevy port/plug layout Mitch. I am not familiar with that one.

Well I have new respect for Maxwell Smart since I always thought he was driving a four banger Alpine (seeing as I never heard of the Tiger before!). I also remember him driving a VW Karmann Ghia spider in the opening. Anyway lookin forward to seeing this one all done.

Is that your engine Mitch? That head casting model was hard to find, camel bump 2.02 heads.

Yes they are Curt...I would like to have a set for my trucks engine but they would have to have all the accessory holes in the fronts of them for the AC,PS,Alt,etc...some do not have them. I always wanted to build a replica of the 007 James Bond vehicles....they used a Sunbeam Tiger in the movie Dr. No.

Not my engine Curt. Those are good heads but aftermarket aluminum ones are better and cheaper...
