New or Unread Post viewing selection

I have no idea if this is something that can be modified individually or not but ...

When logging not to see the stuff I've missed since the last time I was on I click on the 'View Posts Since Last Visit' option and follow through that list. However, today I logged on, saw 2 pages of posts to go through then, grr, I got a Flash update requirement which would not allow me to view the photos until I installed the update. After installing the update I had to restart my browser and so the 2 pages of posts since my last visit was gone.

Would it be possible to add an option like 'View Unread Posts' (that is not dependent on logging in) so if and when stuff like this happens I can keep track of the newest posts even if I have to log on and off several times?

And that's it. Like I said, I have no idea if this is a forum pre-set or something that can be modified, just tossing an idea out there.
