1973 Mickey Thompson Vega Funny Car
I started this one a couple weeks ago. This is mostly what I build is funny cars and the occasional muscle car. Here's one of many reference pics I have..but this gives you an idea, in case you've never seen the real thing. This kit is based on using the Jungle Jim Vega funny car from Revell.
Got the body parts glued in place, gaps filled and sanded smooth....then a coat of gray etching primer
As always I am using Slixx decal, and some Resin parts.
Using the kit engine..but a resin blower hat

Hi Ron,
This body would make a great looking 'Mad Max' type vehicle too...

Engine looks good Ron.
Were there a lot of mould lines to clean up on the one piece chassis?

Thanks guys,
Al, yes a lot of clean up...took a lot of patience haha. But they do turn out decent when done. I will have some more pics here shortly.

Nice work, Ron. Slixx Decals are so much better than the box stuff.

Re: 1973 Mickey Thompson Vega Funny Car
Absolutely Buck!! Once I finish this Vega up I have a really unique Funny car build coming up using somemore Slixx decals..BUT I want to finish this one before I let my attention span get "squirrel dog'd" haha.

Nice work so far. The detail of the Slixx product really help with the build looking less toy like.
I love Slixx.

Urethane clear sprayed, had to do some serious wet sanding to get it leveled..
after it was all wet sanded level..I polished it out with 3 part polish compound from Gravity...
Then after some fine polishing with the finishing compound..it seems to POP.
