Re: Ducati 916
Hi Ash,
Very, very nice paint job Sir, I love the 916, I had a blast on one when they first came out, so I'm in on this one...
Hope you've stocked up on the KFC...

Thanks guys much appreciated comments
Another update which I did yesterday
Brake discs, ooops should be gold in the centre, will have to repaint them
Engine has some more bits attached and some piping, now im not sure about said piping with it being purple, I could go with the std black instead, what do you think???
Alclad chromed the exhaust pipes, will try some heat staining on it, the instructions call for an orange and chrome silver mix but I have seen that done by someone else and to me it didnt look right so i went with this.

Re: Ducati 916
I'm glad you are pleased with the Iwata CR Revolution Ash. It does a darn good job, is easy to maintain and at the price you got it for, tremendous value.
Paint looks great but not being a bike person I cannot advise on the colour of the tubing. Was the purple supplied with the kit?

Hi Al, it's an awesome piece of kit the AB, the purple is some heat shrink I bought from eBay, lots of colours and sizes for about £2

Re: Ducati 916
Work so far is groovey ash
My two pence ..... if youre doing a custom job on the panels then purple the pipes up but if youre doing it stock then id personally go for std black.

Re: Ducati 916
Had another go on the bike today.
Bought some CF sheets from Ebay and decided to give it a go, was very happy with the results, used it on the front sprocket cover and chain guard, stole the mrs hairdryer and some microsol and wowee it worked! even through the lumps and bumps it took very well and didnt split.. then did the exhaust cans just with water, also had a go at heat staining the exhaust pipes after alcalding them with the chrome stuff. Tired a wash on the chain too with some heavily diluted Tamiya X19, enough gabbing here are the pics.
