Nice Site!
Hello---I have a couple posts here, my in progress 32 coupe and my finished last
week TV Tommy Ivo dragster. I moved last year from the frozen north, AKA New
England, to sunny not always so warm Gulf Coast Florida, St Pete-Tampa area. I
have been building since I was a pre-teen way back in the early 60s. I was influenced
a lot by my father, a WWII vet who had built a few models, USS Arizona and an LST,
and my older brother who had a large collection, he also did line control stick and paper
and RC planes, good old days of Cox 049 engines. Anyways I woud build anything back
then, AMT cars, Lindberg ships, Hawk Japaneses rocket Kamakazis with molded clear orange
plastic flames, Revell B-17s and Wildcats, Monogram aircraft, The Mummy and The Phantom of
The Opera, Aurora "Seaview" submarine, pretty much whatever I could get my hands on. I stopped
for a while then got married, had a family, divorce then to keep busy I got back into model
building in the 80s. I then learned to fill and sand, wet sand, use spray cans for a better finish
than brush painting, and have recently bought an airbrush, never too old to learn! I still do some
military stuff, am currently working on the new mold Airfix Dambuster Lanc, I had a lot of practice
on 2 Matchbox Lancs. Also have expanded to Canadian air force, have a Canadian CF-188 of the
"Alouette" squadron about 75% done.Thats about it, I have done a lot in the past 62 or so years,
bicycled, hiked, fly fished and fly tied, even meddled with amature photography and astronomy.
I will post some of my finished work when I get the time, still getting settled in and exploring
the new "neighborhood" here in sunny Florida.---John

Re: Nice Site!
Hey, thanx for stepping up! I hope you'll post fotos and opinions. Tho we may be older, we still can have the fun of playing with ideas in modeling. Costs less than full size machines and if you break one, no big loss. I think the thing to remember is fun is the goal and stress shouldn't be the result!
