La Reale - French galley
This is a nice little kit from Revell of Germany in 1/450th scale. It represents the flagship of the French galley corps under King Louis XIV circa 1690's. There aren't many parts, but it builds up as a cute little piece with the paper banners, flags and canopy provided. Because of that flambouyant French era, I used some leftover gold leaf to cover the gold areas. Due to it's small size, the EZLine rigging can easily put a bend in the thin masts, as you might notice.
And a shot with the reference standard.
The tiny models are great for practice in hand painting.

Nice work. While watching the build on this one, I had no idea it was that small.

Incredibly small for such good detail. I'm guessing the many oars could be used for beating opposition crews to death, if need be.

A really nice job, love the gold leaf. Maybe you could have put a water skier behind the boat.....just a thought.
