Cars and Coffee
Over the last four days we made a trip to Southern California to attend a family funeral. While there I intended to get together with Paul Cadwell (2whl), but it was not to be. Seems I got a call to return home to take care of a "problem" that had come up. I have to apologize to Paul as this is the third time I have canceled a meet and greet in as many years. Seems something always comes up that interfers. Sorry Paul. After an almost 750 mile nonstop, we arrived home yesterday afternoon. Took care of the "problem" in about 15 minutes and then sat back to catch my breath.
On Saturday morning, before the call to come home I did manage to get away and attend Cars and Coffee, a cruise in that occurs in Irvine, California. The gathering starts at 6:00 am and is surprisingly well attended by some really good looking cars. Over the next few days I'll post some of the photos I took. Here's the first.
I had never seen anything like this before. It has Pontiac emblems, but I'm told it is an Australian "Ute". I didn't have a chance to speak to the owner about it. Maybe some of you guys from down that way can tell me a bit about the car.
That's it for now. I'm still pooped and am going back to bed. I'll post more later today or tomorrow.

Re: Cars and Coffee
Looks like a Holden Monaro with a Pontiac front end.
They have them over here in the UK, with rebadged Vauxhall grilles.
- still very rare!
Chris will know.

Certainly looks a bit of a mish-mash, looks quite smart but not my sort of thing, I'm more interested in the little diddy red things in the background

Re: Cars and Coffee
I thought just seeing this Pantera made my day.
This Mustang was still pretty rough, but I was impressed that the owner is only 16 and he does all his own work. According to his next door neighbor who was showing his own car, it takes time for the young man to get money together for major purposes. Kind of reminded me of my teenage years and a 40 Ford.
A real RatRod.
That's it for today. I'll post some more the next time that brain cell wakes up.

A Pantera on the bottle Hope the guy has a pilots license to fly low !!
The young man with the 66 Mustang Fastback is doing a good job on it, has the factory ralley wheels which are hard to find and looks straight body wise with the shock tower brace under the hood it is looking good
Got any pict's on the blue Cobra rep. ??
Thanks for sharing these John

Re: Cars and Coffee
Thanks for sharing John but you know, the Fat Rat is lowering the tone of the neighbourhood.

Re: Cars and Coffee
I have seen Cars and Coffee on "Car Crazy". Dennis Cage did a whole show from there. Started out as a few friends and then word of mouth turned it into a weekly meeting of like minded people.

Andy: The kid with the Mustang stands to make big bucks when he finishes the car if he decides to sell it. Can't say the same for the new "tuners" that most kids seem to want now days. BTW, thanks for bumping the thread. I had forgot I have some other photos to post.
The strangest VW I have ever seen.
One sweet 32.
That's it for now. I'll try to get the rest posted tomorrow.

Re: Cars and Coffee
John, the VW rat rod look is the latest thing. Many like to see how much rust they can show too. Even with a nice paint scheme, I still don't like them. Give me a single color, mildly lowered California Look bug any day. Of course, it has to have a bigger displacement dual weber engine!!

Thanks for showing, John.
