Computer help needed.

I normally prefer to use Firefox as a browser. However, a few days ago, something happened here on Skids Place and the one other website I post on. Same thing, days apart.

All of a sudden, all the text etc is much smaller and way to small to be easily read.

I've looked around Firefox but can't find a way to restore the text size.

Every thing on both sites is fine when I use Chrome but I find it way too slow, have a serious problem with the back button and find the image search on Firefox to be far better.

Anyone able to help please?

Hi Al, I have fire fox installed on mine ( use I.E. 11 ) and just checked this web site on it. I see what you are talking about the text being small. The first question : What is your screen resolution set at and are those two sites the only ones being affected ??

I went into setting and changed the size of the text but that was just for fire fox and not web sites.

I use Firefox for this site and a couple others. Nothing has changed for me at all.

OK Al, I got the text bigger by using the zoom in fire fox.
Here is how you set it up: Bring up fire fox, at the top and to the right of the address bar ( open space their ) RIGHT click and a box will come down ( menu bar, navigation bar and a couple of others ) the one at the bottom is a customize, click on that and a box will come up for different tool bar add on find the one that is zoom, drag it to the bar below the address bar, then close the boxes.

You will see - + signs on that tool bar, bring up Skids Place and click on the + sign until you can see it the way you want it. It should stay in that zoom setting when you close the site and reopen it.

Hope you understand all this, if not I think I can get you some pictures.

Don't know if it provides any hint or not, but recently (a week or two) I've been experiencing something wierd on this site. When I go to another thread, while loading, I see everything in a much smaller type size for a second or two. Then it pops back to the normal size when loading is complete. I am using Internet Explorer 8. I don't notice this on other sites.

That's what I saw Al. On the upper right, second row there is a - & + sign. Drag any of that up to the right side of the Help button. I also took the Copy and Paste buttons.

I saw those Don. Didn't realise they were an icon. Wondered why they didn't work.!! Doh!!

Back to normal now. Thanks both, much appreciated.

used to like Firefox but had problems with it and went off it
been using Chrome but theres features i dont like
the only other one thats any good would be Opera, might give it another try, used to use it a lot but when chrome came along i switched to that

I hope you have managed to get sorted, not sure if you know, but, if you hold down the Ctrl key you can use your mouse wheel to do the zoom thing too...

Control + / - does the same thing. Go into the options box, open the content tab and you can change the size and style of the font to suit.

Most recent versions, open the Firefox button at left hand top corner, click options, then content.

Older versions, open tools in the menu bar at the top, click options, then content.
