1/76 Airfix Sherman Tank, Korea circa 1951.
Just picked this up from the local hobbycraft.
Continuing my obsession with all things Korean, ill be doing it as a bulldozer (scratch building all extras) which was used in Korea during the later half of the war/police action.
There's not too much flash considering its Airfix ... i'm impressed !!!
Don't usually work on 72/76th scale so we'll have to see how it goes ... i do have my new prescription modeling glasses though

Made a start
Got the wheels and hubs glued, painted and a basic drybrush,
Got the hull together .. do not adjust your monitor ... it IS orange ... all will be revealed in due course.
The hardest thing is making the paint look like it's been slapped on in the field without it looking like a slapped on paint job from the bench ... if you get my drift .. this should be ok for what i have in mind.

Nice dry brushing, Colin. Looks like those modeling glasses are paying off.

Nice subject Colin.
The styrene looks to be like that almost 'rubbery' type.
Wheels look great.
Are you going to be advertising Tango Orange fizzy drink then????
I'm intrigued!!

The plastic is a little more "rubbery" than usual to be honest, makes for easier trimming and cleanup.
No Fizzy drink advert... but concentrating on an orange thing for so long it certainly feels like i've been Tango'd

You had me with the wonderful scratched "bucket." That's right about using bicarb of soda for some weathering, I had forgotten that tip! Luv the little details added, like the grab handles and tiny rings. Now about that paint job...it's not April 1 yet! Thanx for a tutorial on building small military models.

It's not April 1st.... This is a legitimate paint job that I've seen in one of my korean war books.
I've just had a good couple of hours on the little begger, lost myself in the build and didn't take any photos unfortunately so I'll be posting the finished job tomorrow when I add a few more extras that are drying at present.

I'm familiar with this old kit. I really like what you are doing with it. Yes, I've seen that picture before and wondered what the crew were thinking.......or drinking.
