Howdy all - returned from a week’s holiday with Mrs.D,
- missing my almost daily fix of this forum and back into modelling, and had an urge to finish an old bike kit.

To make a change from building cars I dug out this unfinished Tamiya Honda Dakar Racer,
which I bought over 15 years ago while looking for a real Honda Africa Twin,
but after a test ride I found it wasn’t quite the bike for me.
It was immensely heavy, and even though I’m 5ft 10+, the Honda’s screwed-up monoshock meant I was on tiptoes holding up the beast
- so both the bike and the model were shelved.
The model had been started and painted but many parts were missing, including the decals
- and heaven only knows why I sprayed it Barbie pink back then - but it’s finally finished as a ratty road bike.
The Tamiya Ducati 916 is an old kit too and built in 1995, where it was displayed at the UK Hot Rod Supernationals that year.

Good looking builds. If you ever remember why you painted it pink be sure to post it. I really dig the Duc,
