Al, I really like the interior on this car. It looks great.
What material did you use for the roll bar padding, and also for the zip ties. Both look spot on accurate.

Thanks both.
Pete..... the padding is small bore silicone tube and the zip ties are made from fishing line.
This will explaiin everything:

Front and rear bumpers, grille, rear panel insert and head light covers all installed.
The 1:1 car , sports some air collector boxes underneath the front bumper. Presumably for brake cooling. I can't find a clear photo of them so I just made some up anyway.
They are made from two pieces of shallow U tube glued together and drilled. Then I added end plates.

It's been a long, challenging project, but the finish line is just around the corner. Best o' luck in getting there clean, white with green! Luv those wheels!

Re: Jim Richard's Ford Falcon
Hi Mr Skid Sir,
I have just been looking at this build from the start and I have to say it looks stunning, I also agree with everyone else, the wheels look great...
Hope you don't mind, but, do the wheels have a back plate or do you have to extend the axle, also, did they come with the tyres, so sorry for the questions...

Re: Jim Richard's Ford Falcon
Thanks all.
Andy...... the wheels just come as fronts so I just added some backing plates painted flat black. To be correct, I should have made a boss and inner rim for the Minilites. But I only just thought of that!!! DOH!!!!!!
I got the tyres from Model Express in Canada but I think they have closed now. Can't remember who made them now either. If I can find an unopend packet in one of my kits, I'll let you know.
I added some ducting to the back of the air ducts. Still in mockup.

Re: Jim Richard's Ford Falcon
The engine is probably the highlight, but the Falcon as a road racer makes my day!

Yes, Dennis is closed now, Model Express, he used to carry American SATCO after market tires.
Don't have a link but their address is:

Re: Jim Richard's Ford Falcon
Thanks Clay.
I finished the decaling this morning. Although they are matt finished, they are well registered, strong, naturaly comply well and will take full strength Microsol.
The Patto's Place Decals are primarily meant for Lexan slot car bodies and as such are not a complete set, with a few missing and even a couple extra!!

Re: Jim Richard's Ford Falcon
I removed the odd looking power steering reservoir, replaced the kit supplied top hose with silicone tubing and added the kit missing second one.
I also added a full five point race harness. I still can't find any correct size ribbon for the belts, so again I made them from Tamiya masking tape.
I just spotted a mistake in the harness, which I will correct in the next update.

Re: Jim Richard's Ford Falcon
Wow Al - the Falcon's come on in leaps and bounds since I've been away.
I see I'll have to get things moving on my Mustang, if we are meeting up for that race at Croft Circuit .
Great work.

Re: Jim Richard's Ford Falcon
Looking great Al. I have also never been ever to find the 3/32" ribbon for seat belts. You can buy it from after market suppliers and it is 3/32" (.096") wide. I know they buy it somewhere and repackage it, just haven't found out where yet.
