Re: Super Glue
I don't use it much anymore, but I used to stick a pin in the nozzle to keep it clear.

Re: Super Glue
I take an alteration pin and put it in the end of my super glue tube. That way it keeps it open and ready for use.

Mind is still a bit fuzzy after getting some news this morning. I put a post about it in Off Topics.

Re: Super Glue
I use the "Krazy Glue". It comes in a plastic Bottle with a brush. You can screw the top back on and it stays good to go. It says on the bottle "Changes color goes on purple and dries clear". And it does. The only place I have found it in my small town is Staples. Walmart doesn't carry it. If I remember to screw te cap on, one 3 dollar bottle will last for several builds. I also use MEK. I buy it at Ace Hardware for 12 bucks a quart. Super Glue is a surface binder and doesn't bond the plastic together. The MEK will melt the plastic together (like a weld) and dries very fast.

I use the MEK too Buck with a brush from a Revell glue bottle.
It seems to evaporate almost immediatley even in freezing cold Ireland.

Re: Super Glue
I do use a pin for the hole when I'm done , what I'm talkin about is after you take the pin out to use it's pluged up and I use a long pin. I do use Model Masters liquid and Plastic Weld then I put a dab of CA on for a stronger joint like on scratch built chassis and sup. parts. John

Re: Super Glue
I use the kind with a screw cap to the end of the tube and don't have that problem.
On a side note, buy the cheapest CA you can find. It works just as well as the 'brand' names.

Re: Super Glue
I get 3 small tubes of super glue for a buck at dollar general.
I leave the end open most of the time.
When I use the glue, I turn the bottle sideways and tap it on the bench top. This clears the opening.
If it is just set down, trapped air will force the glue to seep out the top.
