Revell Greased Lightning 48 Ford
Greetings all. This build was done to be shown on my YouTube channel, Angelo's Workbench, as part of a tutorial on water based paints. The paint job on the body was done using all water based paints. I've been experimenting with the Createx paints and I am liking them quite a bit. You are seeing these before my YouTube channel viewers so shhhhh. LOL I hope you enjoy the pics.

Thanks!
Yes indeed - also a createx product and it was ok. Better than future but not quite as good as a lacquer but its water based. They have a new one out that's supposed to be excellent that I've got to get hold of and try.
I am also experimenting with windshield washer fluid for a car (got to be the blue stuff) as a thinner and airbrush cleaner for water based paints and that is working well too. I am trying to get away from the hazardous materials. I was up to 2K clear and that stuff is horrible. I realized I was killing myself to paint my little paint jobs. I am discovering that with some extra care and preparation I can get results that are 90% as good with a lot fewer harsh chemicals. You still need a paint mask so you don't breath in the fine particulate and windshield washer fluid is still a chemical though its better than lacquer thinner.
Check out the YouTube video - I go over the process. Up next on my channel is the how-to on how I painted it complete with mixing guidelines on the Createx products. I'll post that here too.
Cheers!

Interesting, as far as I know, cars have been painted in Water based colour coats for many years, but I think the clear coat is still lacquer as you'd call it Angelo?

Nope - not this stuff. All water based.

Water or solvent based, it looks great regardless.

Very smart. White is a nice colour to work with I find.
