The F-2 was a derivation of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Lockheed Martin for the Japan Air Self Defense Forces(JASDF). The Tohoku earthquake/tsunami damaged or destroyed 18 F-2 fighters. 5 of the 18 were scrapped. The remaining 13 were repaired at an estimated cost of 80 billion JPY.
