Vickers 6 ton Tank.
This is the kit:
..... and it is truly awful. I'm only continuing with it as it's quite an unusual subject and makes a change from Panzers etc.
The red arrow in this photo points to a fit problem that I could not solve. The side of the hull is meant to be flush with the horizontal surface. No way could I get this to happen. The yellow arrow shows where I had to use some styrene to fill a huge gap. I addition the drivers flap had to be posed semi open as it too just doesn't fit.!!!
In this photo the yellow arrow points to a veritical section that has to be cut out (both sides) and replaced with the section indicated with the red arrow.
Oh joy of joys!!!

Maybe the company's motto should be: "If it looks good when completed, it MUST be a Mirage?"

Re: Vickers 6 ton Tank.
You have the skills to pull it off Al. Still a pain in the back side.

Re: Vickers 6 ton Tank.
Thanks for your support guys.
Paul..... maybe yours was the 'new and improved' version.
Got the paint laid and clear coated for the decals. I'm doing the Bulgarian army version which should just have numbers. They broke up badly on me so I'm using the supplied crosses. One of these also broke up on me and I had to 'fix' it. Don't know if the crosses are correct for the Bulgarian army but at this stage I don't care either.
So now.... what is this all about. Come on guys, get something right.
I swear if anything else goes wrong, this one will hit the back wall!!!

Re: Vickers 6 ton Tank.
Thanks guys.
Don't know about a medal Gary, more like needing my head examined!! LOL
Yeah Mike, better long than short for sure.
I worked on the tracks again and this is as good as they're going to get I think, so I'm calling them good.
Methinks some heavy weathering is going to be in order on this one!!! LOL

Now there's a thought Mike!!

Thanks Curt.
I think this this really is jinxed. Last night I sprayed it with hair lacquer in preparation for some winter whitewash. All was good when I went to bed. This morning it looked like this:
It will cover with the winter wash but is a bit weird. Done this several times now and not had this problem.

Re: Vickers 6 ton Tank.
It looks really good close up Al, perhaps your being a bit hard on it/yourself. Like you say, get a wash on it and I think it will look great. How many concours d'elegance winning tanks were around anyway?
That first one looks to have been dug out of a bog Gary!!
I told them that puddle was deeper than it looked!

Wow, an excellent series of recoveries from a bad kit. I can understand your need to complete it despite the flaws and applaud your tenacity, sir
