Re: 1968 Ford Drag Team
Here are the body's painted in White and sitting on the chassis
Body's with decals on
Bill Lawton, kit decals
Hubert Platt
Dyno Don
and Gas Ronda
Don't even have the kit started for Gas Ronda's car but it's painted and decaled.
Have to do the front bumpers and grille's and headlights, rear tail lights and bumpers, then finish putting them together
Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome

Are you going to build a Team Hauler for all of them?

Re: 1968 Ford Drag Team
You have a regular production line going here John.
Good looking engines.

I like the look of this project..... And yes, I agree.... The engines are particularly nicely done!

Re: 1968 Ford Drag Team
I have a Revell Bill Lawton Mustang started,
which I must get it finished one day.
..NICE set of cars, and of course I'll be 'borrowing' a few of your ideas !

Ron, look at your kit and check the clear parts tree cause the clear headlight lenses where not on any of the 10 - 68 Mustang GT kits I have You can get them from Revell by going to the web site www.revell.com to find out how to order them.
Take your time on this kit and test fit every thing, the hood is too wide and needs fitted and some others that I don't remember right now put will put a post when I do

Re: 1968 Ford Drag Team
Thanks John, I've painted the car - but not checked the bonnet fit (or headlight lenses).
Maybe I should have test fitted first, but I often dive straight in and hope all is well.

Re: 1968 Ford Drag Team
Ron, this is what I did to get things fitting good
1. Inside the roof there are 4 pins, remove the 2 front pins so the glass will fit right
2. the body. chassis guides on the body and the ones on the chassis got cut to half the length, so it's easier to get together and sit lower on the chassis.
In the picture you'll see red dots as to the location I'm talking about
The guide at the rear gets cut also and I filled the hole in the chassis that the screw goes into, I didn't use the screws at all for assembly. Hope this will help with your build and make it a little easier to do
I didn't use the front axle either, goes through the eng. block, used a plastic rod for the axle and filled the hole on the eng. block and made mounts for the engine to sit on. Can't think of any other major issues right now but if I do I'll post them so you'll know

Re: 1968 Ford Drag Team
I was kind of happy back in the day, when the top drivers brought their skills to actual near stock class racers. You've done a super job recreating one of the teams. Imagine the real thing taking on all comers and the diorama it would make! THANX a lot!!!!

Re: 1968 Ford Drag Team
Hubert Platt's car
here are some out side pictures
and the trio
with Gas Ronda's shell
I'm going to start Gas Ronda's chassis some time this summer and will do these 2 at that time also
Rye Ford - Driver; Dinny Lyons
and Foulger Ford - Driver; Tom Stafford. This is Dyno Don's car that they bought after The Winter National's in 1968
When I get the other 2 done I might do some more detailing on all of them, have to see how things go first.
Thanks for looking and the nice comments
