M113 Ambulance complete
This is the finished M113 ambulance, bit of scratch building for the medical parts as mentioned in the build thread
Went together quite well, no major fit issues.
The model is painted in Artists acrylics (mixed to colour myself) and Citadel acrylics. Washes are home made as is the rust effect etc.
Comments and criticism most welcome.

Great decals inside! I really appreciate the weathered look that has taken hold and come to car and truck finishing from the military builders. That's quite a kit if it came with all the hatches, engine, etc. I'll check the build thread for the step-by-step process. Super job, thanx!

Re: M113 Ambulance complete
thank you gentlemen.
I like adding extra detailing on military stuff, if only I could transfer those skills onto aircraft and motor vehicles....just can't seem to get it quite right ....have picked up a few ideas from browsing this forum and will try to put them into practice soon.

A beautiful build with awesome detailing. Looks great with all the hatches and doors open.
Your skills also extend to your photography. The lighting and background bring out the colors nicely. And the interior view with the light coming in from above is excellent.
Great work, Cloin.
What camera are you using for those closeups?

Re: M113 Ambulance complete
Thanks Mike,
The cameras a Samsung Bridge camera, costing about £140. I sold all my photography equipment when I gave up the business and moved up here 5 years ago... This little camera does the same job as the £4500 worth of nikon I had to be honest.
These were taken in natural light with the camera on auto and at 5mp (max 16mp) the camera can be operated fully manual if you wish (iso, F stop, balance etc)
It has a very impressive macro setting and this is the only fault I find with the camera, you can get that close to the subject (1 inch) that the lens blocks the flash and casts a huge shadow over the lower half of the image, therefore you need a nice natural light to take a shot in macro mode.

I too use a bridge camera and my lens focuses down to 5mm. At that distance you really need a ring flash but at £200 for a decent one. no thanks. Besides, in modeling you don't need to go that close...... the closer you get, the more flaws that show!!

Re: M113 Ambulance complete
I used to have all the kit Al .... ring flash, Led Mini spots, mega macro lenses .... then again i used to take shots of Insect/arachnid parts ... still got a nikon stereo microscope sitting almost unused upstairs (occasionally use this to do faces on model figures :))
Youre right though, mega closeups do show all those little flaws that we miss with the naked eye.
I just can't fault this little bridge camera for normal use at all, like i say the only issue is flash on macro setting ... which you dont/shouldnt use anyway :)
