M113 ambulance
This is the Accademy 1/35 M113 A2, converted into the ambulance version.
The Sprues are really good with minimum flash, easyto clean up, here i've just sprayed some areas white with a rattle can. this is as far as i go with spraying, i dont own an airbrush, all my models are handpainted
Got the base together and started adding all the little details
Had to make some bits for the ambulance,
the case is an old ammo box just painted up, the bottles are the handles off old paintbrushes with wire for the pipes and a cross-section of sprue cut for the dials, the sheets are just kitchen roll, the blankets and stretchers are cut from an old pair of camo trousers.
Added some handles, and extra panels on the exterior
Got the metal straps on the bottles, made a camo net out of some fine mesh and some herbs and spices, then painted, rolled up some more fabric for a canvass roll and painted some wire lengths to simulate wooden poles.
Next up will be the main bodywork build images

Re: M113 ambulance
Here's a few images of the detailing for the main hull etc.
Used wet and dry fine grade paper for the nonslip matting
And a sneak preview of the finished article

Hi Colin,
I agree with Mr G, you have done some great detailing and close up photos...

Great work, Colin. Excellent detail outside and in. I love your scratchbuilding skills - especially the use of herbs and spices. Nice innovation.

Re: M113 ambulance
Thank you gentlemen, I enjoy the scratch building and groundwork on dioramas more than actually building the kit itself most of the time.
