Jim Richards 1964 Ford Falcon
It's finally finished.
WIP here:
Base kit is Trumpeter's 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint.
Scratch built roll cage and seat harness. Modified dash. Lowered suspension. Wheels and tyres parted for Minilites and 'Nascar' style tyres. Parts box resin seat. Made new door cards and cooling scoops up front etc.
As I used the quad Webbers set up, the standard bonnet would no longer sit properly and the tear drop hood is totaly wrong for it. So for a 'fix' I added some little 'props' at the rear for better engine cooling.
Well it works for me!!!

Hi Mr Skid,
I agree with everyone else, this came out really nice, I think the bonnet/hood mod works too...

And from me too. Al, that turned out beautifully! Is it the light or do the door handles need BMF?stevegt738 wrote:Looks good Al. I'm sure Gentleman Jim would like it.

Not the light Chris.
Molded in door handles, for me, look much better in body colour than BMF. ie, there is no gap between handle and body and it just looks stupind in BMF. Less so methinks in paint.

We'll have to agree to disagree here. Or pistols at dawn. LOL. Either way a top effort and one that I'll remember when I try a stock to racer build.Skid wrote:Not the light Chris.

Re: Jim Richards 1964 Ford Falcon
Nice model Al....looks really well - and it inspired my Mustang Racer - which will be finished shortly.
Propping hoods for cooling is quite common, so doesn't look wrong,
but working in 1/25th. plastic often means compromises. (so don't look too closely at my Mustang)
Great Job.
