1949 Ford Coupe -- Worn
I finished the build today. This was a rebuild of a kit I did about three years ago. I had forgotten just how warped this particular kit was. I spent much time fighting with the interior bucket and the sides of the body shell. There was much cussing going on in the hobby room during this build. In any event, I think this is as good as this one is going to get.
In spite of all the cussing and moaning going on in the hobby room, this was a fun build. I managed to save a kit that I was not happy with and was able to use some weathering techniques I have never used before. Hope you guys like it.

I think you did an excellent job on it. I really like the door tied shut, nice touch.

Door tied shut and the coat hanger antenna! Doesn't get any better than that. Great job saving a kit even tho there was a major war with it. LOL Came out spectacular. Keep'em comin'! A reward well deserved. 8)

All I can say John is that it looks exactly like I would expect a well worn desert car to look like.
The tied shut door, coat hanger aerial, one beauty ring amd the weathering on the bumpers is all spot on. As is it all.
I absolutley love it.

John, you have done an excellent job on the weathering. Looks exactly like an old worn out beater.

Clever work and that paint job ain't easy. I miss the rust holes so common forever in those beaters. Course it could have come from the SW where rain is as common as penguins.
