Cheap sparkplug wires
I think most of us have an old wired computer mouse around someplace that has been replaced with a wireless. The cable is probably about 4 feet long. This morning I stripped the cable and ended up with wire suitable for sparkplug wiring in red, green, black and yellow. Only took about 10 minutes to strip the cable and it sure beats buying the stuff.

I see this and similar suggestions all the time. Cheap maybe, realistic, no way. For 1/24-25 scale these wires are huge and look it. You would be better off striping the insulation and just using the wire part.

I do this also, but like Don said the wire is large in 1/24-25 scale. I strip the insulation off of it and use it for spark plug boots. Most of the after market distributors you buy are wired with either 28 or 30 guage craft wire. You can find it at a Bead Store pretty cheap and in many colors. I use Shipwreck Beads. Lots of colors to choose from. Plus a roll is a life time supply. 50 feet of it is gonna do many models.

I think John's idea is good - because it costs nothing.
Admittedly oversized, but it can be used for other wiring situations.

Re: Cheap sparkplug wires
I started that way John, but it is overscale,Al sent me a bagy of nice wire in scale but I lost it during the move to England.
So At the local pound shop (2 doors down! LOL) I got a twin roll of thin wire,it is in scale and takes paint ok while still flexing nicely and the paint stays on..
