1978 Monte Carlo
1978 Monte Carlo Landau from Trumpeter. It's an odd kit, the engine is overscale and some weirdly shaped parts- bell housing, inlet manifold for starters.
The real oddity is the wheels and tyres- they look to be scaled from a lowrider. What to do?
My solution was to use wheel inners and insert the factory wheels into them. Some Molotow and parts stash tyres and we're good to go.
Now to simulate the vinyl landau roof. And either find the missing floor pan or just close the bonnet & boot up and go curbside.
Oh, and the ride height is way to high. I've lowered the rear, have to figure out a method for the front.

The MPC version covered a few years. I've got one in the cabinets. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=trumpeter+monte+carlo&atb=v406-2di&t=chromentp&iax=images&ia=images

Re: 1978 Monte Carlo
The wheels on those Monte Carlos were quite small diameter in real life.
A friend of mine bought one, and as he hadn’t driven LHD before so, he got me to drive it back from the south of England, up North.

In moulding terms, yes, it's well moulded, no flash, good interior. The downside is some questionable shapes on the engine and transmission.'
And it sits way too high. With wheels & tyres that are too small.

Never was keen on late seventies American autos but at least this one retains some of the GM line.
As for the vynyl..... in the past I've had good results with 3m Micropore.
3m Micropore
Cut a little oversize, stick it to a sheet of styrene, spray your chosen colour and then apply much the same way you would with BMF

Nice ‘32 Vicky.
I replicate vinyl by stippling satin black paint (Revell mini pots) with a hard bristle brush.
