1932 Ford Beach Racer
My collection of 1/8th scale 1932 Fords are based on Monogram/Revell’s mouldings of the Roadster, first produced in the early 1960’s and rebooted a few times later, but not in great numbers.
They consist of a Woody Wagon, 3 roadsters and a 5 window coupe.
One of the roadsters was bought as damaged/glue bomb that I had to repair and resurrect. .....
Here is the progress from what I received in the post - missing the wheels and tyres, and many parts, to the finished model complete with all the essential little details. Rear tyres are RC items.

That's cool. It's nice to see that American street rods are liked in the UK.

Hot rods are appreciated over here, and in Sweden too, although not as much as it was at it’s peak in the ‘70’s. I got interested in Hot Rods as a kid in the ‘50’s, after seeing articles in Mechanics Illustrated, an imported US magazine, then later the Hot Rod, Car Craft, etc., magazines. I still have copies of some of those issues.

That is beautiful. I have been collecting 1/8 for awhile now and just a couple of years ago I came into a huge collection of 32 and model T stuff. Lots of barely started projects, box after box of parts. 1/8 scale size boxes. Lots of turned aluminum and resin . I am overwhelmed by all of it. I wish we were on the same side of the pond, it sure would be easier to send you parts. I would love to see pictures of all your builds.

Re: 1932 Ford Beach Racer
Thanks Sam, parts and kits are few and far apart over here for 1/8th scale - and demand quite high prices when they do appear on ebay.
I have my ‘32 Five window build almost ready to load up, so keep watching !

Looking forward to it Ron. It's also pretty hard at times to get a good conversation going with any of you guys because of the time difference. It's almost 2:30 am here. I have problems getting to sleep at night, but am heading there now. The coupe will be a nice surprise later in the morning.

Re: 1932 Ford Beach Racer
I love this one Ron. It has something of the looks of a salt flats car but with those big wide rear tyres is obiviously a sand car.
Well done mate.

Thanks Al.
.....Inspired by goings on in Weston Super Mare and Skegness beaches where hot rods and bikes drag race on the sand. They do it at Bridlington too, but this year’s event was in April. I believe it’s called ‘Race the Waves’ and there will probably videos on Youtube.
