My Peugeot 205 T-16 Collection (Die-Cast)
Hi all,
Over the years I have collected some of the old Burago 205 T-16's, and have done some non-standard renovation work on them, when I first got them, none had any decals, the ones that I painted, the white plastic had turned to being nearly yellow, I think they'd been sat in the sun...
The carpet is some black felt sheet from Hobby Craft...
Red (Hycote Rover Night Fire Red Pearl)
White (Paint Factory Shimmer Pearlised White)
Blue (Hycote VW Shadow Blue Pearl)
Original White version
Thank you for looking, let me know what you think, both good and bad points please (that's the only way we learn )

Nice. Not a huge fan of diecast mainly because I like to build from the ground up. What renovations did you do? did you add the pedals or were they already in and most importantly for me, is there an engine? I'm guessing not looking at the bonnets.

Hi Dave,
I tend to do the diecasts now as the plastic kits are a bit too expensive for me, I do fully strip them down including all the paint, the 205's with the carpet, I made the pedals, just placed some small bits of styrene, and glued them in, sadly no engines with these, only the doors open...

Nothing wrong with that Andy, you're doing more than I am.

Even non-modellers are doing more than you Shay.
Nice diecasts Andy.
Night Fire Red Pearl is the colour of my MG TF.

Yes, nothing wrong with die casts, I’ve dabbled in my time.
In fact, I still do, but to a smaller scale by refurbishing old Dinky and Corgi toys

Thank you all...
Hi Ron,
I have done a few of the old Dinky vehicles and gave them away to friends, I still have some left though, mainly the old UFO Shado vehicles, Space 1999 Eagle, a Spectrum Patrol Vehicle, and an old Bedford lorry, their my favourites...
Thank you again Sir...

I have a few old Dinkys somewhere in the attic, I think Lady Penelope's Rolls is worth a few bob, that Gerry Anderson stuff you have Andy could be very rare now.

Re: My Peugeot 205 T-16 Collection (Die-Cast)
I had my finger in a lot of scale modelling pies over my many years, and I’ve been collecting Dinky and Corgi vehicles for decades. I’ve even been a trader, selling on my collections on few occasions. My current collection amounts to 400-450 examples, I haven’t counted for a while, which if the value is as much as some people think they are worth, then I must be a millionaire.
Dinky and Corgis are made of metal and last for decades, there are thousands of each model still out there - I have some from the 1940’s. All mint boxed varieties are worth good prices, but play-worn prices vary on condition and popularity.
Whatever Dinky or Corgi you have WILL be worth money, but probably not as much as you think. The prices advertised are rarely the price collectors are willing to pay. I pay up to £5 for a model that I want to repaint and give the the vehicle a new lease of life - but it will still only be worth £5 to £10 once you have drilled out the base rivets and destroyed any history it had.

Very nice condition.
To be truthful, I don’t collect themed TV and Movie models, but there is quite a big following for them - it is a specialised subject that I can’t really speak on......but they all look in great condition, and in my humble opinion could worth around £25 a piece, or £100 for the three - a heck of a lot more if they came with boxes. But a dealer would only give you about a tenner per model.
The Bedford truck is more my style, but just restoring the axles (I’ve done it) reduces the price - it’s all about originality to get the higher price.
But it’s not all about value though, if the model - I won’t call them toys - brings back fond memories then they are beyond money, they are priceless !

Thank you, Sir, I drove a Bedford like this back in the RAF, we had a few very old vehicles in RAF Cosford, I was going to do it in the old RAF colours, but thought I'd try and stick to its original colours as much as I could...
With the old UFO Interceptor, the original colour of these was white, but I did it in gun metal, I don't tend to buy things to sell, I just buy them because I like them, same with the Eagle, the trellis at the rear is normally white, but again I used gun metal, just to be different...
The Spectrum Patrol car is the only one that I put back to original, for the decals on the doors, I found pictures on the net and printed them out on normal paper, used some glue stick and then sprayed gloss lacquer over the top, thankfully they didn't bleed, and I found a new antenna for it on the Dinky parts site...
