Hi Al,
Thank you so much for sharing these, Sir, they all look awesome...
I have to ask, is that Mr Moss driving the DB...
Could your 'partially cut Hot-rod body' be an AMC Pacer...
Thank you again for sharing, can't wait to see the whole setup, any chance you could make a short video of an evening...
Have fun...

Re: My Slot Car Stable......
Hi Andy, I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot to take my camera to the club on Tuesday (I don't do phone photos to go on the comp) so didn't get the footage to show.
I'll make a speacial note to take it with me next week.
On the upside I won outright that night with this car: (the yellow Porsche 908/3)

Beautiful cars Al ! Closest track for me is 135 miles away. Cars and controllers are investment enough, let alone travel time and costs. Besides, with models, 35mm slr cameras, cars, motorcycles, and a wooden boat, who needs another hobby.
So, Al, do you want to help me set up one of my 1/32 cars?

Re: My Slot Car Stable......
Hi Andy,
As promised, (eventually) brief video. Each driver drives on each of the four lanes for four minutes in quallifying, then in each of the four lane for four minutes in the race itself.
Championship points awarded to position finished.
We run eight classes. Six rounds each class per year.
BTTC/DTM
Grp.5
F1 1970 to date
Le Mans GT (GT1/2/3 etc)
Trans-am 66-73Brands Hatch Endurance 66-74
Nono Slot F1 (a stock F1 class, plasiticard body, no year restriction)
Le Mans LMP82-present
Rally (run on a seperate single lane rally track) 58-present
Goodwood Classic GT and sports cars 50-65
We also have a 'constructors' championship (Teams of two) and I'm happy to say that my teammate Mick and I are leading by 10 points.

Hi Al,
Thank you for doing the video, looks like a great time, do you change the track around or is it fixed at that setup...
Many thanks again for sharing...

Re: My Slot Car Stable......
Andy..... it's routed wood track so it's pemanent. However, the power can be reversed at the flick of a switch, which really does make it a different track altogether.

Re: My Slot Car Stable......
Hi Al,
Does the start/finish line have a beam to count the laps each car has done, I can hear a beep when each one passes through it, I also like how it stopped the other cars when the dark coloured one rolled, slot cars have come a long way since the old Scalextric days...
When I was a kiddie, my Father had an oval track with the old F1 cars, it would only come out at Christmas, then my folks bought me a TCR set, I wanted to set it up in my bedroom but wasn't allowed, mind my room was really small, so I can see why they didn't let me, but again, they'd only let me set it up at Christmas...
Thank you again for sharing this, Sir...

Al, your really not nice. I would love to have a track like that. It is a thing of beauty and I am sure that you enjoy it. One thing, your corner marshalls are a bit slow. Must be their age.

Yes it does. The laps completed, fastest lap, average lap time etc for each competitor is displayed on the tv on the wall.
I also like how it stopped the other cars when the dark coloured one rolled, slot cars have come a long way since the old Scalextric days...
No the track doesn't cut the power when a car comes off. Each driver has a 'Track Call' button in front of him, which they press to stop the race while the car is put back on the track.
We also run a 24 minutes of Le Mans race each month with fuel stops.
Each driver starts with a half tank of fuel. The faster you drive the more laps you complete but the more fuel you use requiring more stops for fuel. So each driver must gauge fuel against speed (more laps)
Fuel leftin each segment is displayed on the tv display. The fuel gauge changes from green through orange (getting low) to red. (extremely low)
If the fuel runs out any further laps don't count until you stop for fuel.
The trick is to cross the finish line just as you run out of fuel as the computer will calculate the amount of fuel you have left and place you back accordingly

I wish it was mine Sam but sadly not. It's a club track which involves monthly race fees.
See above for 'corner marshals'

Re: My Slot Car Stable......
These just arrived yesterday and will be started soon. I'll post finished photos when complete.
1:32 Lancia/Ferrari D50
1:32 Maserati 250F Streamliner:
Neither will be used for competitive racing but will be used 'just for fun'.
This however is being used on our rally track. Fiat 500 Abarth. It's a little pocket rocket since being 'breathed on'.

Looks fun
The red Italian racers look cool, spot on in the time period when racing was dangerous, but exciting seat of the pants racing, and the cars were magnificent !

I saw the D50 recreation run at full revs the Revival years ago.
Never heard anything like it, for a petrol head it was like music.

There are a number of different brands, but yes, like Scalextric. The rally car I have is a Citroën, and it's awd.
