Die Cast Recovery Land Rover
Hi all,
I found these two die cast Land Rovers in my local charity shops, the red one was in good condition, so I left it alone, the other was in a very sad state, all bashed up and the rear canopy was all cracked, so thought I would have a go at turning it into an old Recovery truck...
The recovery kit was from an old 'Sons of Anarchy' 1/24 recovery truck, it was all bashed up and missing its wheels, so thought I'd come up with something else for that one and fix up the recovery kit and fit it to the Land Rover...
Thank you for looking, sorry I don't have any of the build photos, please let me know what you think, both good and bad...

I like them. I didn't think die cast would be so detailed. You did a great job with the grey ones paint.

Hi Dave,
Thank you, Sir, that means a lot...
I forgot to mention, the paint is Tamiya RAF Ocean Grey, (one of the few colours that really suited the Series 2 Landy's) its the first time I have used their spray paint and was really surprised with the coverage...

Great job Andy. I love the 'Jerry Can's, Did you add those?

Hi Al,
Thank you, Sir, the jerry cans, toolboxes, controls and the tow gear is all added, the Land Rover used to look the same as the red one, but the white canopy and glass had been broken, so I stripped it all down and made the front canopy from the scraps and using some styrene card and filler...
The boom and the recovery lights used to be on a 'Sons of Anarchy' 1/24 recovery truck, the wheels were missing off that, so I used the recovery parts and I had to make a new base for the boom as well as new wheel arches, the jerry cans and toolboxes were from a German 1/35 accessory kit and the sand ladders fitted on the rear, I made from styrene along with the front and rear bumpers, bull-bars and the winch...
Thank you again...
