Eaglemoss 1:8 BTTF Delorean

Well, I'm back. I couldn't help but build something. So as a Christmas gift to myself I got the Eaglemoss Back To The Future Delorean. Its 1:8th scale with a ton of neat features. I get 4 issues a month. So let's get everyone caught up.

Issues 1 and 2 came first.

Then came Issues 3 through 6. All parts are die cast, plastic, or pvc vinyl. Its going to be a big model and with some hefty weight too.

Yesterday Issues 7 through 10 came in the mail. I worked on Issues 7 tonight. So next is to work on is 8 through 10.

This really gets me stoked not just because I am a fanboy of BTTF but also I was watching Ready Player One this weekend so my inner geek is, well, geeking out. Looking forward to watching this one develop.

First time I've seen something like that. Really cool. Do the parts go together with screws or glues?

Screws mostly. I'm sure somewhere down the line there might be glue involved.

Ok guys. Let's move on to Issue 10. So in this issue we put the front suspension from previous Issues onto the frame. We also get the steering together, as well as mounting 2 of 5 tires. So let's get started.

Friday Issues 11 through 14 came in as well as the display plate. So I dug into Issue 11 tonight.

Issue 11 dealing with the engine cradle and mating it to the massive frame.

In Issue 12 we started working on the rear suspension. This was a bit fiddly, but I figured out how to over come the problem. The biggest problem I had to over come was one of the control arms and they have you attach the control arm to the mount then the mount to the frame. I had to do the opposite. Mount to the frame and the arm to the mount. So next will be Issue 13.

I'm still chugging away with these builds. I know I'm not posting anything on them, but that is mainly due to the lack of interests people have shown in the progress. I know I've not been posting much, but there has been a lot going on. Thanks for understanding.
