The Blue Max
... The Blue Max Mustang II funny car is complete (well, at least as complete as I can get it) ..... the basis for the build was the AMT Trojan Horse Mustang II kit ....... not really correct for the Max but as close as I can get ...... after two trips to the purple pond. much sanding, body filler putty to smooth the sides, adding an extension to the rear spoiler to more accurately portray the Max, and removing the horrid rivet panels along the lower body sides the body was treated to two coats of Testors Blue Pearl enamel .... the decals came from Slixx ..... the engine detailing came from Kurt at Connkur and Charlie at Pro-Tech ..... not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but a fairly nice shelf model to add to my collection ......

Re: The Blue Max
And they said the Mustang II was underpowered! Very neat work, I wouldn't know the difference if you had not told us of the improvements. I'm surprised at the width of the slicks and the size of the rear spoiler. It must've been a bear to control!!!! Thanx for one more on the shelf!

Excellent, I don't think I've seen one of those before.

Re: The Blue Max
It's really not a bad kit, just horribly inaccurate. It also has some poorly designed parts. The headers I used are from a Revell funny car, as is the injector scoop. The kit headers are "put together one pipe at a time" and don't fit well when completed. The kit supplied "bugcatcher" is a two part item which looks too small and toy like. The rest of the kit goes together fairly well.dublin boy wrote:Excellent, I don't think I've seen one of those before.

Re: The Blue Max
Great build! The interior detailing is superb and the body colour is beautiful.
