Monogram 1/24 Scale "Cherry Bomb" Harley Re-do

This was a enjoyable quick redo on a parts-box harley that I had sitting on the corner of my bench for quite a while.

The part of the Tom Daniel design never really suited my taste ... the tank. While I was chewing up some styrene, I decided to to something different with the trailer. Highlights are:

A new tank made from laminated sheets of plastic, putty and a bit of sanding.
Rear fender cut down
The original sissy bar back rest slightly modified (styrene laminated to the bottom to add some thickness) was used as the seat
A parts box street rod headlight was used for the head light.

The trailer was made from two floor boards from the Daniel's Paddy Wagon Kit, narrowed, with the Cherry Bomb Trailer molded in. I sprayed the center of the trailer semigloss black to tone down the swoopy contrast to the flat trailer. The 'Wagon's rear fenders were mounted top-side and moved forward about 5mm. A license plate frame was cut out a parts box bumper and rear taillights are round stock with a sewing pin mount with the lens being "jewels" from a hobby store craft section. In the front styrene stock was used for the two bar. Parts Box leaf springs, an aluminum rod and Monogram 70's era slotted mags and rims gets it up in the air.

Various spare decals were used.





There were a few details (as always) left on the table I could've addressed, but I am pleased with the results.

I had one with a trailer that came with an MPC car kit many years ago, tiny for a Bike model.
