1948 Thames
..... here'a a picture of "Timmy", my 1948 English Ford Thames 1/4 ct. panel van at a recent Cars and Coffee event in Kernersville, NC ....... at 7-1/2 years old he's getting a little "long in the tooth", but he still looks pretty good

That's one fine looking ride, sir. Any pics of the underhood area?

Re: 1948 Thames
Thanks for the kind comments ..... the engine is a 327 small block Chevrolet out of a '65 Corvette ...... "double hump" fuelie heads, Comp 270H cam and kit, Pete Jackson gear drive, Hedman headers, MSD ignition, Edelbrock intake and carburetor, and a custom shroud covering the carb built by Alan Shadwick in New Zealand ...... backed up with a TurboHydro 350 containing a B&M 2800 stall converter ..... and a 9" Ford rear end with a 3.50:1 gearset

Gorgeous, the old Revell kit is fairly close to it. Have you built it?

That's one gorgeous ride! Very cool carb shroud.
I've never seen that before. Is the carb inlet air directed through the trumpets?

It "breathes" through the front two and rear two velocity stacks ...... the center four are blocked off, that's where it attaches to the carb ..... there's a K&N filter in the base of the shroud but above the carb so we don't have to worry about debris

Beautiful vehicle! So sleek and shiny and I love the 327 - don't see too many of those around these days.
