MFH Porsche 917K "Michael Delaney"
I had planned to do this build after the LH car, but when that build was put in limbo, and not knowing where it was going, I started the 917K. It was the other Porsche that started the 70 Le Mans at the front.
I also like this car because of Michael Delaney.
The un-boxing.

First order of business was to lay out all of the parts and get them into their respective steps. Fortunately...MFH has parts lists on their website which I used to identify the parts by number.

Good stuff Paul. I assume you can just 'bend' the doors to fit them.

Curt, the white metal is fairly stiff, but has enough give to take a shape. I've been using various things like dowels and the rounded edges of furniture (don't tell my wife) to help with the complex curves. The problem is the top and bottom bodywork need to be fastened firmly together to get the opening in the right shape, but still be able to be taken apart to be painted. I'm thinking some sort of white glue that is water soluble so I can un-bond the pieces.

Same engine framework as the LH car. With a mock-up of the finished pieces.

Curt, is that a glue?
Almost all of the rear frame completed.
The last two pieces at the rear appear to be too long. Thinking that something else would be off, I assembled the side pods and rear splash shields to see if anything was amiss. Looks good to me, so I'm going to have to shorten those two tubes.

I use it as glue. It is a form of hoge poge, it dries crystal clear. I use it for windows,PE or anywhere CA or model glue will be seen. It is super tough stuff. I love it.
You are really banging through this build Paul.

Sort of a "birdcage" Porsche! So much detail and so much work. Thanx, good luck!
