'88 Buick Regal
Done. The kit wheels & tyres were hopeless, the tyres more so. So off to the parts bin. I'm not entirely happy with the wheels, they were the best of a bad lot. I've also lowered it from the 4x4 ride height it had.
I'm happy with it. There's not many Buick kits out there, and 1980's cars are rare too, so it all helps fill gaps in the collection.
I forgot to do an interior mirror, and BMF the door ones. Tomorrow will do.

AMT promo kit. Here is an identical one on ebay ( and cheaper! ) You can make a decent curbside kit out of it with some detailing.

Very nice...! Beautiful car build. And others wonder why I like promos...plus one can get promos of cars no kit is out there of. I love restoring old 60s/70s promos...its rewarding.

It's just a cover for the glue sniffing is what I tell people! But yes, restoring a glue bomb is a special brand of satisfaction. I've just gone crazy on ebay only minutes ago, and ordered a couple more promos.
As you say, promos are the only way to get some car kits.

Never knew that was kitted, nice job.
I couldn't believe it back in the day that the GNX was gone, and that's what came next! 3.5 V6 with 125 bhp or something like that?

Your right. I restore old promos and models...love it. I always try to restore a old promo to its original condition but if they cant be they become a model of some sort so they have another chance. I have a few I need to find parts for so i can restore them...there too good not to if I can.

Regal looks better than the ones on the street! I like that you emphasized the door lines too. It's a silk purse made from a very basic kit!
