I used to walk to school past a dealers who had an XJC in white with a black vinyl roof, it was stunning. Used to spend ages looking at it.

Apparently the story goes that BL tried to homologate the XJS at the time, but the interior was slightly too small, so it had to be XJC, which was far too heavy.
Tom Walkinshaw a few years later took a few bits and pieces out of the back seat of an XJS and hey presto, it would pass the rules, hence the TWR Jags.
