2010 Ford F350 Super Duty Super Crew
I started my Meng F350 which is going to be the tow vehicle for the enclosed trailer I have going over in Miscellaneous.
This a great kit. The front wheels are pose-able. Nice detail including separate U bolts for the rear axle.
I started the chassis, the engine and have the body in the two tone. It needs a little touch up and the clear.
I want this to look used but in good shape. Trying to weather the chassis a little,

Lovely, looking great. I did this one not so long ago for a magazine review. It is a excellent kit.

Real nice work Mitch. That front axle is one of the nicest rendition of a Dana 60 front axle I have seen in kit form. Great weathering.

Great job Mitch, that chassis is spot on for what you're aiming at. I'm looking at the Meng Humvee kit, its good to know they are quality.

Sure looks like a really good kit. Underside with genuine spare and detailed suspension is so nice. By itself the frame and wheels could be model!

Re: 2010 Ford F350 Super Duty Super Crew
This kit is so well engineered. I did a mock up of the cab body on and everything fits.
I have a couple of flaws in the paint on the cab body that on a lesser kit I may have just tried to repair and buff out but this kit is so nice I am going to strip the body with brake fluid and paint it again.
I am cleaning up an older build of what I really had as a tow rig, 2000 F150 and a cheap flat bed.
I did most of the interior on the 350 and flocked the carpet with embossing powder

Re: 2010 Ford F350 Super Duty Super Crew
Thanks Gary.
The brake fluid did a good job and the cab and bed are stripped and ready to go again.
As I looked a real trucks and the way the two tone paint jobs are applied I noticed that all trucks with the two color paint job have a small set of flares on the wheel openings.
The bottom color is only on the flares as it goes around the wheel arches and it doesn't come all the way up to the style line in the middle of the doors but just under it.
I decided to add the flares before I prime and try for a more accurate or factory like two tone on the second try.
I used some Plastruct 1/8" half round. These pictures show it going on. I used a file to flatten the crown a little after the glue dried and shaped them and smoothed them with some 600 sandpaper.

It's looking great Mitch.
I particularly like the light weathering on the trucks rear end.

My oh my! Fender flares show your real eye for detail and skill in duplicating it. I thought the interior fotos were a bit disappointing with boxy looking seats, and why couldn't the put a few wrinkles into the seats? However, when the interior is into the body, the look is fine.
The engine looks pretty good, even without any added details. Flatbed is awesome, a real triumph of realism. Together the trucks are a very cool combo.

Thank you.
The interior is simple in some ways and detailed in others. It has a separate very thin piece to glue in as a headliner, and all of the assist pull handles are separate pieces.
I pulled the dash back off last night because I wasn't happy with the look of the AC vents. The real truck has chrome trim rings around them and I tried to use chrome paint. It just didn't look good. I used BMF to foil the whole circle and carefully painted the louver section and it looks much better. I will post pictures soon.
The repaint is going well. Everything being repainted is back in primer and I will shoot the black this evening.

I would've said "the heck with it" after the silver paint, and been satisfied . You are one "driven" builder!
