Mercedes 1628.
It has proper V8 engine.
Alloys and disc brakes are the order of the day!
The engine has been moved quite a ways back.

Re: Mercedes 1628.
It as I say going to be a race truck hence moving the engine back to improve the balance of the truck,so the colour/s is/are open season.
I worked in a commercial Mercedes dealership in 1983 and some of the fitters were bonkers - take mad Frank,he would laugh hysterically as he blew the brake drums out with an airline.....Probably long dead as it was asbestos back then!

Re: Mercedes 1628.
Got the chassis finished and sprayed stainless steel, cos it can be wet on those race tracks...
The engine/box has been sprayed steel to contrast with the chassis.

Re: Mercedes 1628.
Got the cage assembled.
And painted ts35 as a mild contrast.
Here you can see the cross brace of the cage.
Fitted the roof spoiler.
The rear arches.

Re: Mercedes 1628.
Got a few trailers.
And this...
But decided to use this one.
Got the basics done.
It kinda dwarves the Mercedes...
Got the sub chassis and wheels done AK steel.
The underside.
Of course it needs sommat to pull it so decided on this,it has the steering wheel on the proper side!...
