Another Albatros DV - Eduard 1/72
While I'll be struggling with the DH2, I hope to be moving along quickly with something else. And that will be the second Albatros DV from the Eduard Dual Pack.
This is a very cool paint scheme. Love the dragon.
A little bit of work begun.
Usually I hate working with acrylics, but this time it worked out. It's a nice violet craft acrylic.
Got to keep the mojo busy.

Weird colors, weren't they?! Looks like something Walt Disney studios would create. I have trouble guessing what all the odd P.E. parts are for. This one will be waaay cooool!

Another little stunner in the making Mike. I, like H, am wondering about the PE. Have you ordered a microscope? LOL

Kind of a big jump since the last photos, Sorry. I painted the fuselage with Model Master Light Gray. When I masked it for the tail paint, the Tamiya tape pulled some of the color off. Light touching up and coat with Future Floor Wax before decaling. Eduard's decals are very dense in color no see-through.
The four piece 'Scarlet Dragon' decals were fun to get in registration. Best started from the tail and work forward.
Thanks for the comments.

Remarkable detail for such a tiny little kit! The decal work is excellent!

Re: Another Albatros DV - Eduard 1/72
A bit more done here while the Airco DH2 is stalling.
The lower wing was installed and blended in. MG's and exhaust in. Landing gear attached, but with the same problem I encountered on my last Eduard Albatros. The crosspiece does not set well in the struts using the holes provided. Sitting only on the strut tips, the plane is cocked, but when the wheels are on the pins, it should be near level.
Thankfully, the top wing went on much easier than the landing gear. Had to remove the exhaust to locate the cabane struts.
I chose to paint the red edging on the tail sections rather than use the decals. They're provided in one large piece and I find them difficult to handle.
