Disaster at Geezer's Garage Empty Disaster at Geezer's Garage

Post by Geezerman Thu 21 Apr 2016, 4:10 pm

I take Geezer's Garage outside for finish shots of my models. It normally sits in my studio on a 6' high shelf.
Well. today after photographing the Belvedere, I was putting it back on the shelf. I was about a half inch from getting it there, and my right arm gave up the ghost. There's a tall rollaway tool box under the shelf and that kept the dio from going straight to the floor. I tried to stop it but couldn't. It tipped and went on down all the way. I 'spect I'll be having some reconstruction to do on it. The  Belvedere had already been returned to the workbench, so only  some of the props I kept with the dio were damaged.

Ah man that is too bad Clay. Those tornados can be rough, not I personally know, but is sure looks like a bad storm went through there.

Doesn't look like much damage to the main buildings, luckily. Quality construction.

Take care.

That's really a bummer Clay. Looks like you will be able to salvage it though. I can say I know how you feel because I did the same thing with my California Dreaming diorama. It's a real "aww poop" moment as you realize what is going to happen and that you can't do anything to stop it.

Me too. models can be repaired, replaced, the artist cannot. I'm relieved there's no health crisis.

Yeah, replaceable/fixable. Thanks for the concern.
At 80 + years old, some things don't work as well as they used to. Just another older than dirt episode.

Glad you're alright Clay. Bummer about the dio, if you didn't know what to do after the Belvedere...now you know. What size is it?

Man that's a real shame Clay, I love that dio. I know you'll get it repaired as good as new though.

Good to hear you are OK too.

That just plain sucks. Maybe it needed a facelift anyway.

You could do a diorama with a news truck on the scene of where the twister went through town...

Sorry about the damage Clay.

Sorry to hear that Clay...glad your ok. I feel for you and all the work you have to redo...I had 2 large dioramas about 75% done and we had a breakin here both were completely destroyed including the large plexiglass covers. I managed to be able to save some of the small items from them to start over with. Bad thing is there also took and damaged many of my and my dads old model kits and old promos...rough time.
