Hope you all can tolorate an old windbag on a COLD day in Florida.
Living in Elkhart, Indiana, there was a huge RR yard on the south side. There was a NYC museum there. On a visit, I seen they had a huge O scale model rr layout. The only structure on the whole thing was a kinda crude roundhouse. On a whim, 'ol bigmouth asked the curator if he would be interested in some more buildings. Donated. I had just unloaded oll of my 0n3 creations and must have been having a relapse.
Out in the yards, there was an old engine house that was a recycling place now. I got permission to go thru it and get photographs of details . It was a neat experience, reverting this building to what it might have looked like back in the day..

Also, on the grounds was an old boiler house that I was able to get a couple of pictures of the outside.
That too, was backdated via some imagineering. The first foto (severely cropped) is the finished model posed with one of my bonsai trees (Alpine Currant).

Shortly after moving to Florida, I learned that the O scale layout was dismantled and and stored in a back room, due to the museum going into a massive uprade/renovation. Never learned of what became of any of the layout stuff.

I might add that all those windows and doors I was able to get from Grandt Line in O scale.
32 windows on that top piece alone!

Sorry but I have to ask, is the top picture a dio also or is it one of the actual building, so sorry...

The building is stunning, it would look great on a track set-up...
