Ready to use Acrylics for Airbrush...

Hi all,

I'm after a little information on ready to use acrylics, I've been saving some pennies and then in the new year I'd like to buy & stock up on some paints, I have only used the Vallejo Model Air paints with my airbrush, but I was just wondering if there are any others out there and if so what is recommended please...

Andy, I can highly recommend Zero Paints from Hiroboy:

They do lots of colours including exact car and bike makers colours. Also they will make up paints to your specs.

Plus Steve is a genuine guy to deal with IMO.

I'll wack some spare citadel colours off in the post Andy. They thin back with just water just nicely.

I don't airbrush so I don't know what percentage to thin so it'll give you something to work out on those long wintery welsh nights heh heh heh

Thank you for the link Sir, I've looked at those a few times but was not too sure if they were acrylic's, also, may I ask are they ready to use, as in no thinning etc needed, and the big one, are they stinky...

Yes they are pre-thinned Andy but they are solvent based. That shouldn't pose a problem though as long as you wear a mask and have good ventilation. (which you should do anyway)

Also they are base colours and will need clearcoating.

I use them a lot.

Again thanks for the info Sir, I don't think I could use these though sadly, as I do all my modelling in my kitchen, so I guess they would stink up the house a bit, this is why I like the acrylic paints, they don't seem to smell and they are easy to clean up...

Andy.... as for smell, Tamiya bottled acrylic paint has much more smell to it.!!

Andy, the best air brush ready stuff I have found is Testor/Model Masters acrylics. They wash up with water and need no thinning is needed, hence air brush ready.

No idea if you can get the, over there or not.
