Major improvements, well for me
Well this morning I've gone from a non swimmer to 4 1/2 widths, amazing what you can do on holiday (tbh not in one go ) but I am chuffed, my brother will be embarrassed he can swim like a fish. I must also admit I'm knackered for the rest of the day.

I'm a natural sinker too.

Everyone can float on their back in a pool if you're shown how to and everyone should be taught how to tread water and swim too. I's like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it.
Should be taught in school.

Some are floaters and some are sinkers. Seems like it's true.

Re: Major improvements, well for me
While some do have difficulty floating the secret is to have your head back until your forehead is in the water. Head up, you sink. Head back you float. Learned it in swim class as a lad after I almost drowned.
Sinker and floater reminds me of the TV show "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" (later called MXC) which took Japanese game show footage and over dubbed it. One of the events was called "Sinkers and floaters" where if you fell into the pond it was supposedly sewage.
