1969 Shelby Mustang Gulf Road Racer

I bought this kit just to get the 18" Mag wheels and tires to do a Bullitt 2005 Mustang before Revell released the kit to build the late model Bullitt.

I didn't really want to build this car stock so I came up with idea to make it a Gulf Oil sponsored road car.
I made some decals with my printer to get orange GT500 tri stripes and then the rest is paint and parts box numbers and such.

I cast the Mini Lite wheels myself out of resin. One of my first attempts at resin casting and it shows...

Over all a fun build and you can't go wrong with the Gulf livery.

I like that.

You're right about the Gulf color combo. Clever idea fer sure.  Wheels look good in the foto too.
