1935 Delahaye 135M - Heller 1/24
A beautiful looking kit, but the most difficult I've ever done. It's a real PITA, but don't let it dissuade you from the other Heller Classics - they're much easier and very unique subjects.
The only change I did to this one was to make the rear fenders skirted like many of them had back then. if you Google the Delahayes, they had some really radical designs for the time. Now that I look at the photos, it's odd they didn't include side or rearview mirrors.
So, if you've got one of these laying around, I think they'd make a great hot rod without the hood.
Thanks,
Mike

I think you made a silk purse from a sow's ear Mike. You did a great job and the colours suit it perefectly.
After your trials with it, I think it's going to be a long time before I do mine!! LOL

Excellent! All I could wish for would be a more detailed engine from the model company. Of course, there is elegance in simplicity. The Bugattis looked simple but the textured metal surfaces made up for the basic look. Then there were all the bolt heads on the dual valve covers, a plus as well. Thanx for a very special build!

You beat it! Well done. I wasn't sure of the colours, but they're growing on me.

Hi,
So beautiful... Mine is still on the box, never had the nerve to build it... tough indeed, but you did it, congratulations!
Onto the next,
Nuno.
