Fokker Eindecker - Revell 1/72
When I get frustrated with a current build, I usually pick something new up for those in-between moments. This time I happened to grab a Revell Fokker Eindecker in 1/72 as a quickie distraction.
There's a fair bit of flash, but it's a good molding job. Minimal need for filler here.
Instructions called for a mix of Light Olive and Yellow which I think turned out close to the boxart.
They give nice direction on where to paint the white section on the fuselage, and I did follow it. But when the red and black stripe decals went on the angle was slightly off. If I had to do it over again, I'd simply use some white decal material to mate up with the stripes.
The painted white band is also a bit denser in color than the white background of the iron crosses on the wings.
The rigging is simpler on this one compared to the biplanes. They even gave a small notch on the bottom of the wings that I drilled out to pass line through.
So far - so good on this one.

Looking good Mike. I'd say you got the colour spot on!

The word "eindecker" popped into my head a few days ago. Spooky, for certain. I wish u luck. Now stop sending telepathic messages, please.

Re: Fokker Eindecker - Revell 1/72
Wow, I finished this one up, but forgot to take a lot of pictures. Did the rigging by drilling holes in the wings and passing 1 long line through from bottom left, thru the wing, over the spar, thru the wing again, and to the bottom again at the landing gear. Much easier than all single point to point runs. Also added little bits of stainless wire on the motor cylinders as pushrod tubes.
Thanks for the comments.
Think I'll do another one of these soon.

Very fine looking plane! Colors/decals really help as does the little Herr pilot!
