1951 Anglia
.... this car was built for a "foreign drag car" challenge on another forum .....
... In the late '60's and early '70's, Modified Eliminator as a whole, and C/G as a class at Amarillo Dragway were ruled by R.D. Thomas of Pampa, Texas ......... his little '51 Anglia, named the Blister Bug, was powered by a 301 cubic inch Chevrolet engine backed up by a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed and an Olds 10" rear end .......... the high winding little beast would wheelstand in every gear
The car was built from a badly warped and broken Revell kit (I haven't seen one yet that wasn't in that condition) ........ the kit's Olds engine and Hydromatic were replaced with a small block Chevrolet and a 4-speed, the kit's horrible tires and wheels were replaced by Comp Resins American Mags and tires from the parts box, and the ridiculous steering wheel was replaced with a standard sized round unit like what was really in the car ........... the Car was finished with Testors paint and Slixx decals

Correct about warpage on that one and the Thames panel truck. Without connected front end, thin windshield posts (A pillars) and opening doors, something always shifts a bit.
Making a model of a real car adds to the importance of it as a bit of history, thanx!

Re: 1951 Anglia
That is a terrible kit, job well done. I do remember that era in drag racing and miss it.

I like it a lot, great colour.
I had the same bonnet problem when I built mine.
