Simple kit to play around with amidst getting the garden pond up and running.

It's not the best quality resin but quite well detailed nevertheless.
will be going on a little diorama base and will have extra detailing as per usual such as making the extra door, adding rubble, slates and bricks around the areas of damage.

base coat on

creamy grey wash to fill in the cracks for the mortar

dry brushed, quick black wash

woodwork done and the slates finished and a few bricks highlighted, just needs a final selection of dark washes in selected areas.

The details quite good when painted

the bricks for the rubble are made from childrens play foam, and then soaked in a dilute paint mixture. i'll just scoop out the bricks and place them where needed, the paint will cause them to stick together a bit and makes it easier to get piles made.

the slates are just grey card cut to size.

Just a bit of weathering added, windows and frames in, door made for the open doorway.

Got a base sorted and have painted where the grass and paths will be in a base colour so if any shows through when the substrate is added it'll look ok.

I've started the gravel paths and decided to make it a glaziers workshop as i have some little bits of clear plastic i can use as panes of glass.

made up some glazing tables and a cabinet to add a bit of detailing to the inside

cut the clear into squares and have cut some up into fine pieces to simulate some broken glass strewn around.

furniture added, grass done.

now to add the slates and bricks and try and blend them in with washes and some fine rubble and dust etc.

Detail and weathering looking good, Colin. Just curious about 1/76 scale is that a common railroading scale in Europe?

1/76th scale is OO gauge Mike (4mm to a foot)

should imagine its the Airfix - Hornby conglomeration where they obviously decided to make trains / vehicles / buildings all standard.
but ironically with all these being 1/76, their figures and aircraft are generally scaled at 1/72.

Got the furniture in place and started the brickwork and slate mess,

Quick simple tree ......

Use a real twig, this one was cut down to size and a twig remnant superglued onto the centre to give me the shape i wanted.

Airfix 1/76 ruined European workshop Sam_1945

Some garden twine, cut into short piece and knotted in the middle

Airfix 1/76 ruined European workshop Sam_2010

Comb out the ends to give little "branches" and press a coctail stick into the knot to help in handling

Spay with adhesive

Airfix 1/76 ruined European workshop Sam_2013

Sprinkle railway scenery type leaf / flock material over the sticky twine.
i like a few different colours / sizes in stock so you can mix them to give the desired effect

Airfix 1/76 ruined European workshop Sam_2015

The finished result, when dry i'll just stick them onto the twig i cut to shape earlier.

Airfix 1/76 ruined European workshop Sam_2016

If any of the twine shows through it looks like the smaller branches of the scale tree
