And here I always thought we Americans were the only people that did crazy things like this! There are a number of items even we have never seen on the shelf over here.

Things like "heat and eat" mashed potatoes seem ridiculous, but folks are so busy and nobody, after a long day at work, wants to cook from scratch. I appreciate grocery stores offering any food healthier than TV dinners or high calorie, high cholesterol take out (take away) food. Society is changing and groceries are trying to adapt to people who routinely eat out 3-4 times a week. My pet peeve is already popped popcorn. Who can't pop their own?!

Just add hot water!!! Isn't that how had boiled eggs are made?

At an approximate price of £1.80, you can buy a dozen eggs, each egg will take less time to prepare that this "new", "innovative" method.

Getting a perfect boiled egg isn't hard at all (boiling water and three to four minutes of your life (depending on how you like them)) ... I manage it even without putting my C&G chefs qualifications to use.

If you really can't help failing on your boiled egg preparation then Delia Smith did a half hour show dedicated to creating the perfect boiled egg. I'm sure youtube will have a copy of the show.
