Dodge Charger SRT8
I have been a member if this forum for quite some time, but have yet to start a build here. So I figured I would start contributing to this great group of builders. Also, so I can participate more in the MOM contest.
Here is a shot of the Box Art of the Model I will be starting.
Its a pretty simply kit, semi-curbside (has a one piece engine block piece under the removable hood) as well as a few optional custom parts. I has a big body with bold lines so I thought it would be a good opportunity to work on the painting skills. However, along with the bold body lines are quite a few seams that need to be sanded down.
Here is where I am at so far.

Hi Dan,
That does look like a nice kit, I hope you have some KFC...

I have wondered about this kit for some time now. Glad to see you building it.

I'm neutral on the Chargers, but your model (with opening everything) looks good. Thanx for showing the body.

Well, I'm just an old school guy who doesn't like many modern cars but I'll still be following along Dan.

That's a great looking kit. Awesome starting point for a police car.

Glad to have you jump in Dan. How do the scissor doors work?

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8
Thanks for all the interest guys.
Al: I figured you wouldn't be a huge fan of the style of car, but thanks for following along anyway. Perhaps I can sway you a bit through the course of the build.
Mike: This would be a good car to add some custom push bars and lights, but I am going for a showroom/custom look.
Sam: I figured I would feed your curiosity now instead of making you wait till I actually get to installing the finished doors. Here is a series of shots showing the hinge. I am actually very impressed with how Revell engineered them!

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8
That is one big a**ed 1:1 screw. Like to see the mechanic try to get the screwdriver into the car. Probably take three guys. One to place the tip and two to hold the handle and turn it.
Seriously that is some nice work by Revell. Too often they engineer some door hinge and it is flimsy and hard if not impossible to align.

I couldn't agree more with Dave on these two points.
Now Dan quite messing around and get that thing together.

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8
It is a novel way to do the "supercar" doors. I've seen a very involved tutorial on them at one of the model sites. You've begun with a big head start!

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8
Well that makes it simple enough. never would have thought of that. Probably why I don't work at Revell.
