Flying Vette...
Hi all,
I have been working on this since I finished the trailer, it's not finished yet still a way to go, but thought I'd share what I have done so far...
I was inspired to have a go at this one after watching someone called Ira on another forum build one, although his is in 1:8 scale...
The two bodies are from a couple of glue bombs I bought off the E-Bay which I was going to strip and re-do, but when I got them it looked like they had been in a glue bath with the amount of glue on them and trying to break them down bits started to break, so thought I'd use them on this...
On this I had already cut the bodies height down...: -
Then joined the two together...: -
Like the original one the Ira had done the bodies where to wide, so next cut a section out and joined them again...: -
I made the wings by joining two pieces of 1mm styrene and then cut and shaped them...: -
I used the Corvette dash but cut down and then used some square styrene tube for the sides...: -
Couple of coats of primer...: -
Added some extra bits I found...: -
Now a couple of coats of white and then sanded down ready for final coat...: -
Anyway, that's it for now, please if you have any suggestions let me know before I put on the final coats...
Many thanks for looking...

I like where this is going Mate, totally off the wall stuff gets my interest.
I think the painting parts in hand (my spraying leaves a little to be desired anyway on models as you know), for the detailing afterwards we can bounce some ideas around, and of course if you need anything i may have knocking around then i'll send it down ....

The Corvettes are awesome bodies to do this to. I have the Original Flying Car in my museum. It was built by Bob Paeth in the 1960's. About 1964 as close as we can guess.
It was made using two Ford Starliners. It "floats or flies" because of large magnets. The 4 clear posts keep it from flying off the display base.
Here is a link to the photo album:

I really like the way yours has the 4 taillight holes in the rear it is cool looking.

I like '0ff the wall'. Cool idea.
I was about to question the need for a roll bar, but then i deduced that it might be serving as a stabilizer of sorts.

It's a great solution to the "pothole" problem. However, the autos-into-buildings problem would increase. I luv the fun of this post! Thanx on a very rainy day!
