Hello from Aberdeen Washington
Hey guys,
Quite a few3 of you know me. I have been banging around the web at different model car forums for quite awhile. I started building models very young about 9 or so. When I was 10 I found model cars and never looked back. I built model cars and read every Hot Rod magazine I could get my hands on. Went into the Army at 17 and kinda got away from the hobby. That was 1965. I learned enough from models and mags that when I got out of the Army I went to work in the Automotive repair industry. Worked at a Dune Buggy Shop first cutting and welding pans. Then a Toyota dealership. Went into the Tranmission industry in 1975. Stayed there from then on. Opened my own shop in 1990 and retired in 2009 after 41 years in the industry. I started build models again in 2002. So I feel like it's come full circle. I used what I learned from Model Cars to get into the repair industry and now I use what I learned in the Repai Industry to build Model Cars. I have also been aactive in the Automotive culture by Drag Racing, Rod Runs, Car Shows, Taught at a local Community College and served 12 years on ther Advisory Board at that School. I build mainly cars and Truucks but recently branched out to do a Motorcycle and a World War II Aircraft. I am now interested in finding a good sailing ship kit and trying that.
I am looking forward to learning more about the hobby from you guys. It really changed a lot in the time I was away from it.
