1941 Chevrolet PU

At the time I built this I had a 1:1 project truck and used the model to see how I would like the finished truck. Since I always seem to have too many projects, both full size and models, the full size was sold to further other projects. I went ahead and finished the model though.

The goal was to build three different versions, sooo...



I started an assembly line type production, cleaning and prepping the chassis parts and assembling all three chassis.



After selling the full size, I decided to not build all three, so two were finished. I have the third chassis and have since purchased a resin panel truck body and will use the chassis on that.

I was planning on building it as cheaply as possible, and using what I had already found. I had a 1959 235/3spd, so was going to use that as the power. Splurging for the cam,dual carb setup, and header. Front suspension was going to be a dropped axle with 57 Chevy drum brakes, rear end was going to be a later model open driveline type with lowering blocks, again splurging for a frame mount dual master cyl/with power brake booster, and useing a 65 mustang fuel tank between the frame rails behind the rearend. The kit engine came with everything but the headers, those came from the AMT 51 Chev conv. i also planned on splurging and running wide whites on red steelies.

Clay, no Gee Bee parts are being harmed in this build. lol

Bruce, I think that is the same guy I got the panel body from as well as my 50 Ford COE.


One thing that the 1:1 had in it was a 53-4 Chev passenger car instrument panel. It was just scabbed into place by some old rancher but I wondered how it would look if it was cleaned up and molded to the dash So I had a dash cast and cut and molded it in. Stupid me, I forgot to take a pic of it before gluing the interior in, so this is the best pic I have.



I also had finished up the chassis. This is the first time I ever used solder for exhaust. Man was it easy.

Oh, and this was also a slump buster. i did not add any wiring or plumbing of any kind and all detaila were just painted.
